The PropTech Innovator Network is a group of C-level PropTech executives who meet monthly to discuss the latest technology trends and receive unique insights from influential MLS & Industry leaders. On August 7th, 2024, the Network welcomed special guest Daniel Jones, CEO of North Carolina Regional MLS (NCRMLS). In the ever-evolving world of real estate and technology, few individuals embody the spirit of innovation and empathy like Daniel.

 

Daniel Jones Conversation Highlights

As MLSs look toward the future, they must redefine their true value in an evolving industry. Historically, cooperation and compensation were the cornerstones of their existence, but these pillars have weakened with the impact of the NAR settlement. Daniel believes that the integrity and readiness of data are now the gold standard for MLSs. Even if platforms began to bypass MLSs and go directly to subscribers, the enduring value would lie in the accuracy and reliability of the data they provide.

 

To navigate these changes, Daniel asserts that MLSs have all the tools they need but must be willing to engage in tough and sometimes awkward conversations with other MLSs. It's through open dialogue and collaboration that organizations like CMLS, RESO, and NCRMLS were formed, and Daniel believes that the future of MLSs will be shaped by similar conversations. By focusing on data integrity and embracing change, MLSs can rebuild and emerge stronger in the years ahead.
